"Your Pictures... My Magic" all started when I realized just how much I enjoyed digitally editing the pictures of my daughter, Elizabeth. In fact, you will notice most of the demonstration pictures are of my daughter - she's my at-home guinea pig! When she was three months old we went to a local photo studio to have her pictures taken. TOTAL DISASTER! Now I knew that this was very likely and that I would go home with pictures that were of a very angry, screaming baby. This did not make me feel any better when it happened! My baby was usually so happy at home...and I realized I had my answer. So I hung up a white sheet, taped it to the wall, put my baby in her dress and had my husband prop her up with some white blankets while I took pictures with my digital camera. Now the pictures at first looked like what they were, a baby with a sheet behind her; you could even still see the edges of the wall and floor as well as my hubby's arm. BUT, after some professional digital editing you would have sworn I'd had the pictures done in a real studio!
I have taken photography classes, but those were for the "real thing," meaning in a dark room. While you can edit pictures in a dark room, it's nothing compared to what I can do with a computer! As I later took pictures of my daughter that had not been "pre-posed" and began to insert her into natural backgounds, I realized I was onto something. I wanted to use my digital editing skills for other parents and familes so they could have these kinds of professional looking pictures with their HAPPY FAMILIES as the feature. Now you could get these effects done through a photo studio, but you still have the whole unatural setting problem with that scenerio, and those types of services are very expensive. With these issues in mind, "Your Pictures...My Magic" was born. You use your own pictures and with my magic, turn them into a work of art!
